When I attended Locust Grove in 2008, I had hoped to look at potential mates, for Emma.  I knew it would also be a great opportunity for me to consult both her breeder, and her sire's breeder.   Gretchen said she knew of a nice young male a breeder was looking to place and referred me to Chris Krowzack (Slaine).  I was somewhat concerned about adding a third male to our group, as we don't really use kennels, here at Bereton.

So, I decided to come home and give it some further consideration.  Six weeks later we made the journey to the Chicago area, to bring this handsome boy home, to Texas.  He has adapted beautifully and is truly a valued member of our family, with his exceptionally loving and easy going personality.  We just cannot imagine life without Adagio, now!  He has more than exceeded any expectations we may have had for him, finishing his AKC Championship requirements at only 16 mos. of age, with some very nice WINS.  The photo on right shows him winning a 4 point major, and Best of Opposite Sex, (MVKC) held at Purina Farms, in Gray Summit, MO. on May 31, 2009, under breeder judge Donna Brown (Hound Hill) in the company of some tough competition.
In case you're wondering about the name "Adagio" it is an Italian word meaning "at ease" or "slowly", used in musical notation to indicate a slow pace.  It suits him well.  Thanks, Chris!
